College Football Rankings: BCS simulation has Alabama, Oregon in championship game

The latest BCS rankings sim from SB Nation has a final game of Alabama vs. Oregon for the college football national championship.

John David Mercer-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The latest BCS rankings simulation is out from Samuel Chi of SB Nation, and the national championship would be interesting from one side of the country to another if the season were over today. Alabama versus Oregon would be the title game for all of the college football glory in 2012 if Chi were right on, but other teams hang close, including a surprising South Carolina team that Steve Spurrier has climbing the rankings.

As for Kansas State, the team moved up a single spot after defeating Kansas by 40 points over the weekend. It's clear that Kansas is not a major win, despite the local rivalry in the national rankings, so it was expected that the Wildcats would inch forward rather than leap.

West Virginia made the biggest jump in the BCS rankings from 10 to 4 behind the strength of their shootout win over Texas, and the Mountaineers definitely look like the Big 12 favorite. Still the grueling conference schedule will test that standing week to week.

Here's the top 10 below:
