College Football Rankings, Week 12: Kansas State up to No. 2 with Alabama's loss

Eyeing a spot in the National Championship Game, the Kansas State Wildcats topped TCU this week to stay unbeaten and moved up to No. 2 in this week's AP Poll.

The Kansas State Wildcats beat the TCU Horned Frogs Saturday to move to a perfect 10-0 on the year. Just as importantly for Kansas State, Texas A&M beat Alabama and as a result, the Wildcats are now No. 2 in this week's AP Poll.

As the number of unbeaten teams shrinks yet again, the Collin Klein and the Wildcats are looking more and more like a team that can play for the National Championship.

But in order for them to secure a bid and maybe even hit the No. 1 ranking by the end of the regular season, they have to keep winning. That task starts next week when they Wildcats visit Baylor.

For now, the Oregon Ducks take over No. 1, while the Crimson Tide fall to No. 4. Notre Dame is now No. 3.

The Aggies, meanwhile, enjoyed a six-spot bump this week with their huge win. They broke the top ten this week and are ranked ninth.

But while Texas A&M made a big jump, Louisville did just the opposite, falling nine spots to No. 20. The Cardinals were blown out by Syracuse this week.
