Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein was named 2nd Team All-American by Sports Illustrated after a stellar senior season for the Wildcats.
The Loveland, CO native led the Wildcats to an 11-1 record this season and helped give Kansas State their first Big XII title since 2003. Klein threw for 2490 yards and 15 touchdowns this year while also rushing for 890 yards and 22 touchdowns on 194 attempts. Klein was named as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, but he finished third behind Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o.
Along with Klein, senior Kansas State linebacker Arthur Brown was also named 2nd Team All-American by Sports Illustrated. Brown led the Wildcats in tackles with 91 total stops, and also added six TFL, one sack, one fumble recovery and two interceptions this year for Kansas State.
The Wildcats also had five players named to the All-American Honorable Mention list, with returner Tyler Lockett, kicker Anthony Cantele, tight end Travis Tannahill, and defensive backs Ty Zimmerman and Nigel Malone earning that honor.
