The Kansas State Wildcats (5-1), coming off their first loss of the season, welcome the Atlantic Sun's South Carolina-Upstate Spartans (3-4) to the Bramlage Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. Kansas State is 8-0 against the Atlantic Sun, and has won 25 consecutive non-conference games in the month of December. The Wildcats hold a 36-1 mark at Bramlage in December over the last 10 years.
Kansas State began the season with five straight victories over lesser competition, before losing to No. 4 Michigan in the championship game of the NIT Season Tip-Off. The Wildcats defeated Lamar, Alabama-Huntsville and Delaware to reach the final.
South Carolina-Upstate is on a modest two-game winning streak with victories over Utah Valley and North Carolina-Asheville. The Spartans have played five of their seven games on the road. K-State is the first opponent from a major conference they have played.
This is the first ever meeting between South Carolina-Upstate and Kansas State.
