Kansas State vs. George Washington preview: Game info, TV schedule and more

The Wildcats travel to the nation's capital to take on the Colonials on Saturday afternoon.

US PRESSWIRE

Kansas State will try to continue its hot start to the season when it faces George Washington on Saturday. At 6-1, the Wildcats have come out of the gate strong against their non-conference foes.

In their last game on Dec. 2, the Wildcats easily dispatched of South Carolina-Upstate, beating the Spartans, 72-53. Rodney McGruder led the way for Kansas State with 22 points, and the team led by as many as 27. The win was a bounce-back from the Wildcats' loss to No. 4 Michigan in the finals of the NIT Season Tipoff on Nov. 23, Kansas State's only defeat to date.

For McGruder, the team's leading scorer, Saturday's game will be a homecoming. The senior guard is from Washington, D.C., and played his high-school ball at Arlington Country Day High School. For the season, he's averaging 12.6 points per game to go with five rebounds and two assists per contest. His 22 points against South Carolina-Upstate were a season-best.

George Washington (4-4) is coming off a narrow 72-68 loss to Bradley on Dec. 4, snapping a two-game win streak. In that contest, the Colonials nearly rallied from a 19-point second-half deficit, but came up just short. GW's leading scorer and rebounder is Isaiah Armwood, with 13 points and nine rebounds a game.

Saturday's game will take place at 2:30 pm ET at the Charles E. Smith Athletic Center. You can catch the game on the CBS Sports Network.
