NCAA Women's Tournament Final Score: Tennessee Wears Down Kansas Jayhawks For 84-73 victory

The Cinderella story for the Kansas Jayhawks looked like it may continue on Saturday afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa as the Jayhawks ran out to an early 26-12 lead over the Tennessee Lady Volunteers before falling to the second-seed in the region.

Kansas still lead 35-30 at the half, but gave up 54 second half points in falling 84-73 to the eight-time NCAA champions.

The Jayhawks received solid all-around games from the trio of Angel Goodrich, Aishah Sutherland, and Chelsea Gardner. Goodrich and Sutherland put up 23 and 19 points respectively, while Gardner had 10 rebounds to go with 14 points. Tennessee was lead by Meighan Simmon's 22 points off the bench.

Kansas closes it's season at 21-13, while Tennessee improves to 27-8 with the victory.

Up next for Tennessee is a likely date with imposing Baylor, lead by all-everything Brittany Greiner. Baylor will be taking on Georgia Tech later on Saturday, with the rights to play Tennessee on the line.
