Kansas St. Wildcats head coach Frank Martin has been rumored to be the next head basketball coach for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Martin was asked to put the South Carolina rumors to rest by the Kansas City Star:
In the age of social media that we live in right now, it's crazy. I was scheduled to be at a press conference today in South Carolina and I was sitting watching a show in New York City last night. And obviously I'm sitting here with you guys today, so it's ... The stuff that gets out these days, I look at it as a compliment that we're doing our job the right way at Kansas State that these sort of things get out.
There is not a flat out no in his response regarding taking the South Carolina job, so he did not exactly put this rumor to rest. Also, Martin was asked where he was going after the show he replied by saying that is his wife's decision, so take that for what it is worth.
