Kansas State Has Named Bruce Weber As Their Next Head Coach

Bruce Weber's unemployment as a college head coach lasted all of 22 days. The former Illinois Fighting Illini coach, has been hired by the Kansas State Wildcats to replace Frank Martin, per a report from CBS Sports.

Frank Martin was hired by the South Carolina Gamecocks on Tuesday to be their next head coach after Martin lead the Wildcats to four NCAA tournament appearances in five years, while winning at least one game in every tournament appearance. Martin amassed a record of 117-54 in five years at Manhattan.

Bruce Weber will be tasked to do a similar job at Kansas State as he did in Illinois. K-State's been a consistent winner under Martin's watch, and Weber will need to keep the Wildcats winning as he brings in his personnel and system. After achieving the peak of his coaching career in his second year at Illinois, finishing as a runner-up to North Carolina in the 2005 national championship, Weber failed to get his team to the tournament in three of the last five years.
