If you're not excited for college football yet, this may help whet your appetite. On Wednesday afternoon, the Big 12 conference named players to the All-Big 12 preseason team, and three Kansas State Wildcats earned the honors.

Sophomore Tyler Lockett was named to the offensive All-Big 12 team as a kick returner. Lockett was an All-Big 12 second team selection in 2011, so his name is no surprise here.

Defensively, the Wildcats landed two players to the preseason All-Big 12 team. Senior linebacker Arthur Brown, who was a first-team All-Big 12 selection in 2011, and senior defensive back Nigel Malone, who also made the first-team All-Big 12 team in 2011, have both been named to the All-Big 12 preseason team.

Kansas State's first game will come on September 1, when the Wildcats play host to Missouri State.

No members of the Kansas Jayhawks football team earned preseason honors.
