The Kansas State Wildcats are the No. 3 seed for the NIT Season Tip-Off tournament and will play the Lamar Cardinals in the first round. The Wildcats will host the four-team Midwestern Region at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhatten, Kansas.
The game on Nov. 12 against Lamar tips off 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast by ESPN3. North Texas will play Alabama-Huntsville in the other game at 9:30 p.m. The two winners will meet for a berth in the NIT semifinals Nov. 21 at Madison Square Garden.
The Wildcats will be under first-year coach Bruce Weber when they take on a Lamar team that won 23 games a year ago and reached the NCAA tournament.
Michigan is the top seed in the 16-team field, with Virginia No. 2.
