The No. 23 Texas Longhorns lead the Kansas Jayhawks, 7-0, after one quarter at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kan.
Texas scored on its first drive of the game to take a 7-0 lead just a little more than four minutes into the game. Running back Joe Bergeron carried three yards for the touchdown to finish off a four-play, 43-yard drive for the Longhorns.
Kansas controlled the time of possession, holding on to the ball for more than twice as long as Texas, but the Jayhawks were outgained by the Longhorns, 63 yards to 44.
Jayhawks' quarterback Michael Cummings was 2-of-5 passing for 21 yards. James Sims carried six times for 35 yards.
The Jayhawks have lost their last six games and come into today with a 1-6 overall record. They are last in the Big-12 at 0-4. Texas is 5-2 on the season, but currently sit sixth in the Big-12 at 2-2 with both loses coming to conference opponents.
