Mizzou Loses Starting Nose Guard Dominque Hamilton To Broken Ankle

The Mizzou Tigers had a thrilling victory over the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night but the day after isn't quite as pretty. Columbia is still feeling good -- or hungover -- but Mizzou's starting nose guard Dominique Hamilton is not.

He broke his ankle in the first quarter of Saturday's game.

Per Gary Pinkel, that will likely keep him out for the year.

The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Hamilton and fellow tackle Terrell Resonno have been surprise stalwarts on Missouri's rejuvenated defense, combining for 37 tackles, four for loss and two sacks in the first six games.

Normally I'd say this is a big deal. And, well, it is. Any time you lose a starter, particularly someone on the defensive or offensive line because you can't find those guys everywhere.

But Mizzou has taken on a number of injuries and still run one of the best defenses in the country.
