Mizzou's Blaine Gabbert, Gahn McGaffie Are Big 12 Players Of The Week

It's a big week for Mizzou football. The Tigers beat previously No. 1 Oklahoma in impressive fashion, 36-27 and they've jumped up to a consensus top 10 team in all the polls. A couple of Tigers are being rewarded for their effort against the Sooners on Saturday.

QB Blaine Gabbert has been named Co-Big 12 Player of the Week with Nebraska's Taylor Martinez. Gabbert completed 30-of-42 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown. Perhaps the biggest accomplishment from Gabbert was his play in the fourth quarter completing 8-of-9 passes for 95 yards and a score.

Gahn McGaffie also came up big for the Tigers right off the bat and he was named Big 12 special teams player of the week. He took the opening kickoff back 86 yards for a touchdown putting Oklahoma in a hole early.

Mizzou's defense stepped up big again but it's the offense getting recognized this week.

Next week: Mizzou's Blaine Gabbert vs. Nebraska's Taylor Martinez.
