History Says Mizzou Football Will Win Big Against Colorado

If history means anything, Mizzou football will roll over Colorado on Saturday.

If history means anything to you, then the Mizzou Tigers football team will likely beat up on Colorado on Saturday.

Mizzou enters the game as a 12 point favorite but Mizzou has dominated Colorado in the Dan Hawkins era.

Here's how it's been for Mizzou vs. Colorado over the last four years:

  • Sept. 30, 2006: 28-13 Win
  • Nov. 3, 2007: 55-10 Win
  • Oct. 25, 2008: 58-0 Win
  • Oct. 31, 2009: 36-17 Win

Combined score of Gary Pinkel vs. Dan Hawkins: 177-40

Average score of Gary Pinkel vs. Dan Hawkins: 44-10

This year Mizzou enters the game with some significant advantages. As has been in the Pinkel era, the Mizzou offense is on fire, which means Colorado will need to be able to score (and score a lot) to hang with Mizzou.

The problem? Colorado is only averaging 23 points per game, which is 11th in the Big 12. Their quarterback, Tyler Hansen, is passing for just 179 yards per game -- that's a good half for Blaine Gabbert in some games. He has a 1:1 touchdown to interception ratio and doesn't have any receivers that pose a threat.

History says Mizzou will roll in this game. The stats say they'll roll. The oddsmakers say they will, too.

Now it's just a matter of doing it.
