The Missouri Tigers football team is preparing for a trip to Iowa State this weekend while the basketball team is preparing to tip-off the regular season on Thursday night.
Here's your Mizzou news for the day:
New plays helped lift Mizzou football team against Kansas State. They had to try something. The Tigers lined in the pistol at times. "It’s just another way to get the running back down hill," QB Blaine Gabbert said. "It helps the offensive lineman in the run game blocking wise." Mizzou was getting killed offensively the last two weeks so they had to change something. The Tigers looked much better, as did Gabbert, against Kansas State.
Behind the numbers: Mizzou vs. Iowa State. The Cyclones may be the worst passing offense the Tigers face this year. Their starting QB is out and that will make them struggle even more. The Tigers now face a one-dimensional team so they'll have a good shot to shut them down. Dave Matter of the Columbia Tribune also passes along this stat: In ISU's five victories, they've allowed one rushing touchdown. In ISU's six losses, they've given up 17 rushing touchdowns. Wow.
Mizzou basketball tickets still available. First time opening the season ranked in a while: "A very limited number of season tickets for all 18 Tiger home games (including the annual season ending clash w/ the Kansas Jayhawks on March 5th) are only available until this Thursday at Noon by calling 1-800-CAT-PAWS or visiting the Mizzou Arena Ticket Office between 8-5 p.m. "
