Insight Bowl: Missouri Tigers' Gary Pinkel Pleased With Iowa Hawkeyes Matchup

The Missouri Tigers finished the season 10-2 and as the No. 12 BCS ranked team including a victory over then-No. 1 and now Big 12 champion Oklahoma Sooners. On Sunday the school announced that Mizzou would be playing the Iowa Hawkeyes on Dec. 28 at the Insight Bowl in Tempe, Ariz.

Considering my bowl projections had Missouri going to the Holiday Bowl and the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Insight Bowl this is good news for Mizzou fans.

Gary Pinkel, head coach for Mizzou, says he's "pleased" to accept the invite from the Insight Bowl.

"We're very pleased to accept the invitation to play in the 2010 Insight Bowl," said MU Head Coach Gary Pinkel. "This is going to be a great reward for our team, and for our fans. Iowa is a very talented team that will present a lot of challenges, so we look forward to working hard over the next few weeks to prepare for what should be a great game and a great trip for our program," he said.

The Tigers have 23 days to prepare for the Hawkeyes. For now, Missouri fans will take pride in getting a "better bowl" than Nebraska.
