I suppose when coaches say fast start, this is what they mean.
Mizzou scored just eight seconds into their game against Miami (OH). With 14:52 left on the clock, it was 7-0 Mizzou.
And they didn't even start with the ball.
Miami (OH) completed a pass and the receiver quickly had a fumble forced by a Mizzou linebacker. The ball was picked up by Carl Gettis at the 19 and run back in for the score.
Just like that, Mizzou took a 7-0 lead.
Miami (OH) has already had three fumbles in the first three minutes of the game. Not a good recipe for success.
