First Missed PAT Since 2005 Leaves Mizzou 10 Short Of NCAA Record

Heading into Saturday's game against Miami (OH), Mizzou had made 248 consecutive PATs spanning three different kickers. That left them just 14 short of the NCAA record.

  • 2005: the last 13 PATs of the season (by Adam Crossett)...
  • 2006: a perfect 45-of-45 (by Jeff Wolfert)...
  • 2007: a perfect 67-of-67 (by Jeff Wolfert)...
  • 2008: a perfect 73-of-73 (by Jeff Wolfert)...
  • 2009: a perfect 39-of-39 (by Grant Ressel)...
  • 2010: a perfect 11-of-11 (by Grant Ressel)..
  • On Saturday against Miami (OH), Mizzou scored four first half touchdowns to move that total to 252.

That left Mizzou just 10 PATs from the NCAA record of 262 set by Syracuse with seven different kicks from 1978-1989.

And then Grant Ressel missed the fifth PAT of the day in the second half against Miami (OH) on Saturday.

How heartbreaking is that? Sure it's not a huge record but one that I'm sure Mizzou would have liked to break.

I guess we'll come back and check on their progress in another five years.
