2011 NFL Mock Draft: Aldon Smith To Houston Texans Again

The 2011 NFL mock draft process is still in its early stages but it appears one of the popular picks in the early goings is Missouri Tigers DE Aldon Smith to the Houston Texans at the 11th overall pick in the draft. This would be a good fit for both Smith and Houston, who already has pass rusher Brian Cushing in the fold. Here's what Mocking The Draft said:

Houston is in the same spot as Dallas. The Texans have big needs at both safety spots but none are worth the pick. Miami cornerback Brandon Harris could get a look here, but this would be a touch high for him. Smith would give the Texans an excellent pass rushing option opposite Brian Cushing.

I think Smith could make a transition to outside linebacker relatively easily. Both positions (pass rusher) are valuable so it wouldn't affect his draft status one way or the other.

Smith had 11 sacks in 2009 but just six last season as he suffered from a leg injury causing him to miss time.
