Missouri Tigers' Laurence Bowers was removed from the starting lineup last week even though he'd been playing well this season. Mizzou head coach Mike Anderson put him on the bench to strengthen the reserve players and added Justin Safford to the starting lineup.
↵Anderson talked about the advantage of having a guy like Bowers on the bench vs. the starting lineup.
↵↵↵"I think it gives you an experienced guy that can make a lot of things happen," Anderson said of the benefits of having Bowers in a reserve role, which he excelled at last season. "His versatility is very obvious. I think he kind of helps anchor that group down, he really does, and it makes it easier because you've got to remember, you've got three new players out there."
