Missouri Tigers Return From Texas With 71-58 Loss

The Missouri Tigers got down in a hole early and never seemed to be able to climb completely back on Saturday as their trip to Texas didn't go as planned. The final in Missouri vs. Texas was 71-58 in favor of the Longhorns. Missouri kept it competitive but the team that went down to Kansas last week was able to win another big game.

Mizzou just couldn't shoot very well and had no one step up throughout the game. Without that spark, Missouri shot just 33 percent as a team. Kim English and Marcus Denmon had so-so games and when that happens Mizzou is usually in trouble.

Texas held an 11-point halftime lead and allowed Missouri to get within seven points in the final minutes but ultimately pulled it out.

The last time Missouri beat a top 10 team on the road was 17 years ago in 1994. Mizzou was ranked No. 11 in the AP poll and Texas was ranked No. 7. Mizzou will fall down while Texas could move up as well.

Texas and Kansas are sitting at the top of the Big 12 right now so Saturday's results were significant. Missouri falls to 3-3 in the conference and 17-4 overall while Texas improves to 6-0 in the Big 12 and 18-3 overall.

Texas' schedule includes a big game at Texas A&M Monday night but no other ranked teams on the schedule. It's hard seeing Mizzou catching up with Texas in the Big 12 at this point.
