Missouri jumped out to a big lead early and cruised home with a 87-58 victory over Notre Dame to advance to the finals of the CBE Classic. The Tigers will face the winner of the Georgia-California match up in the championship game on Tuesday.
Marcus Denmon scored a game-high 26 points to lead the way for the Tigers who shot 58 percent for the game. Denmon finished an extremely efficient 9-11 from the field and 6-7 from the free throw line. Phil Pressey added 17 points and three steals while Ricardo Ratliffe finished with 12 points and a team high eight rebounds. Kim English rounds out Missouri players in double figures with 10 points.
Tim Abromaitis finished with 22 points for Notre Dame but scored only four after halftime as the Tigers' defense clamped down on him. Scott Martin chipped in 12 points and six rebounds in the loss.
Missouri took a 52-37 lead into halftime and outscored the Irish by 14 in the second half. Missouri is off to a 4-0 start under new coach Frank Haith this season.
