Neither Missouri nor California were tested on their way to the CBE Classic Final. The Tigers dispatched Notre Dame 87-58 on Monday while California turned away Georgia by a score of 70-46 to set up Tuesday's final game.
Both teams enter Tuesday night's game unbeaten at 4-0 and the match up between Missouri's Marcus Denmon and Cal's Jorge Gutierrez should be entertaining. The Tigers figure to have a quickness advantage and will look to use their pressure defense against the Bears. California should have an advantage on the interior with Harper Kemp who scored 16 points against Georgia on Monday.
New Tigers' head coach Frank Haith is trying to build a "championship program" at Missouri and says that winning this early season tournament would help that process.
"We want to have a championship program. Winning a (CBE Classic) championship is important to get our mentality of winning championships."
Tip off is scheduled for 10 pm ET and can be seen on ESPN 2.
