Independence Bowl 2011: Missouri Likely To Take On North Carolina

Missouri is reportedly headed to the Independence Bowl on December 26 where it will likely take on North Carolina.

According to numerous reports, the Missouri Tigers will be headed to the Independence Bowl on December 26 where their likely opponent will be North Carolina. 

Confirmed #Mizzou vs. North Carolina in the Independence Bowl on Dec. 26th.

The Tigers finished with a 7-5 record during the regular season but finished strong by winning four of their last five games. The Tigers scored upset victories over then ranked Texas A&M and Texas this season. Quarterback James Franklin proved to be a dynamic threat for the Tigers offensively throwing for 20 touchdowns and running for 13 more this season. 

The Tar Heels also finished with a 7-5 record and finished fourth in the ACC's coastal division. UNC nearly upset Virginia Tech on November 17 losing 24-21 but lost two of their last three games to end the season.
