The NCAA tournament is here.
Well, almost. The 11th seed Missouri Tigers will play this evening so we're still a few hours away from tip-off when they'll face the sixth seed Cincinnati Bearcats. The game time is 8:45 p.m. (CT) in Washington D.C. and it can be viewed on TNT (channel 32 for all of you Time Warner folks in Kansas City).
What's interesting about this game is that some had Mizzou as favorites early in the week and many others had the game as a pick 'em. Now, most college basketball odds say this is a pick 'em game and some have Cincy as a one-point favorite. So basically we don't know what's going to happen in this game and Vegas doesn't either. I think that's the way I like it.
The Tigers will know their opponent if they win as UConn and Bucknell play right before them in Washington D.C. If Cincinnati wins, that would be another Big East vs. Big East matchup in the second round (or the round of 32 or whatever they want you to call it now).
Mizzou's style of play is somewhat unique as they'll run, run and run some more. They're hoping that will be enough to take it home against Cincinnati. This is near Kim English's hometown so watch him tonight as well. Maybe he blows up in front of his hometown crowd.
