Is Mike Anderson headed to Arkansas?
The Missouri Tigers head coach has been connected to the open job at Arkansas for over a week now and reporters have hounded him about it. He said last week: "I'm a Missouri Tiger" which would seemingly end all the speculation, right? Wrong. There's something more to the story. In fact, Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com reports Anderson to Arkansas is happening.
Missouri coach Mike Anderson is close to reaching an agreement in principle to become Arkansas' men's basketball coach, but a deal has not been finalized and no formal introduction is planned for Sunday, a source close to the Arkansas program told CBSSports.com late Saturday.
We'll see what happens but from what I can tell right now the Kansas City Star and St. Louis Post-Dispatch aren't reporting the news. Neither is the Columbia Daily Tribune.
The rumors of Anderson to Arkansas have some legs because he spent 17 years coaching under Nolan Richardson at Arkansas. Asked last week about it, Richardson said he would advise Anderson to accept the Arkansas job if offered.
Anderson was last seen recruiting in Springfield on Friday after Mizzou's opening round loss in the NCAA tournament.
