Arkansas Razorbacks Approve Mike Anderson Contract, According To Report

This is about the same update we've given everyday for the past week -- reports out of Arkansas are saying Missouri Tigers head coach Mike Anderson is headed to Arkansas to become the Razorbacks new head coach.

Except there's a little more bite this time and, for the first time, I'm starting to believe Anderson is headed to Arkansas.

The latest report comes from Mike Irwin of 5 News in Arkansas:

Sources tell 5NEWS that the Razorback Foundation board has approved a contract for Mike Anderson who is expected to be named the next head basketball coach at the University of Arkansas.

His contract will reportedly pay him $2.2 million over seven years with a $500,000 buyout. The report says Anderson will be announced as head coach at a press conference on Thursday. A Northwest Arkansas report says Anderson received permission from Missouri to speak with Arkansas.

I was skeptical of the Arkansas reports, specifically 5 News, but more and more news outlets are reporting the same. It appears I was wrong about them, assuming something does go down.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported earlier this week that Mizzou was prepared to add two years to his current deal and bump his annual salary to $2 million.
