Mike Alden's Revenge On Former Mizzou Coach Mike Anderson

So Mike Anderson left the Missouri Tigers for Arkansas Razorbacks on Wednesday and you'd be hard-pressed to find a Mizzou fan who doesn't feel at least some bitterness in his or her mouth. The way it all went down with the leaks, rumors and double-talk has some (rightfully) upset at Anderson.

That should include Mizzou AD Mike Alden who, as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night when the entire college basketball world knew Anderson was leaving, was still in the dark. Anderson didn't tell him until 6:45 p.m., about 15 minutes before a team meeting with the Missouri players.

So will Alden look for revenge on Anderson?

Yes...but not "revenge" in a negative way. He needs to simply find someone better. That will be all the revenge he needs, as Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes

Above all else, Alden needs to find a coach who wants to be a Missouri man. A coach who appreciates being here. A coach who won't feel insecure just because he coaches on a court named for Norm Stewart. And a coach who won't be slumming for another job, an increased payday, as soon as he wins a few games. Missouri had to put up with this nonsense for three consecutive years.

Anderson is gone. The only revenge out there is to find someone that will take them further than Anderson did. That's the best form of revenge.
