The search for the Missouri Tigers next head coach goes on.
On Thursday, Missouri State head coach Cuonzo Martin said he had not had contact with Missouri regarding their head coaching job and would not be answering any questions about it.
On Friday, the Kansas City Star reports Mizzou AD Mike Alden has now reached out to Martin. Mike DeArmond reports Martin was contacted after he issued that statement. He is not as high on the wishlist as Purdue head coach Matt Painter, according to the report.
Painter is an interesting choice but he's also a Purdue alum coaching at Purdue so it may be hard to pull him away. Reports put Martin's current salary around $1.3 million. Mizzou was reportedly prepared to offer Mike Andeson a package that would pay him $2 million per year before Anderson departed for Arkansas. It's unclear how much the Tigers are willing to spend on the new coach.

SB Nation's Rock M Nation is going through the coaching search looking at potential candidates. Here's their write-up on Matt Painter and then the one on Cuonzo Martin.
