The Missouri Tigers have lost three games in a row but look to reverse that against Texas Tech on Wednesday night at the Sprint Center. This will be the final game of the first round of the 2011 Big 12 tournament. We've already seen Oklahoma State, a nine seed, upset Nebraska, an eight seed. Also, in progress as we type this, is Oklahoma upsetting Baylor.
Will Mizzou be next? They're heavy favorites in this game against Texas Tech. The Red Raiders fired head coach Pat Knight last week but he will continue through the Big 12 tournament. The question is whether this will be used as motivation for Texas Tech to beat Mizzou.
The Tigers are the better team (as the 12-plus point spread shows) and they should win what will be a very pro-Mizzou crowd. As you know, they have trouble beating conference opponents away from Columbia. This will be close to a Columbia crowd.
The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. on KMCI in Kansas City.
