Blaine Gabbert Will Attend 2011 NFL Draft In New York

QB Blaine Gabbert is expected to be one of the first two quarterbacks taken in the 2011 NFL draft, perhaps even the top overall pick (even if it is a long shot). Though he may not have the star power of QB Cam Newton, he's still one of the best players in this draft.

The NFL has decided to invite him to attend the draft, and he has accepted, according to Pro Football Talk. This means Gabbert will be walking across the stage and shaking NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's hand when his name is called.

The NFL has invited over 20 prospects to attend the NFL draft, though not all of the players have accepted. The NFLPA is conducting events the week of the draft but they aren't expected to conflict with the draft on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

So Gabbert will be in attendance when he's picked....and he shouldn't have to wait long to hear his name called.
