NFL Draft 2011: Blaine Gabbert's Big Week Is Here

The 2011 NFL draft is finally here.

Mizzou QB Blaine Gabbert will find out which team he'll go to and, after months of mock drafts, we'll find out if we were right about him being a top five pick.

I think I'll be right with my prediction that he'll be a top five pick. I can see him going No. 1 overall to the Carolina Panthers, No. 3 overall to the Buffalo Bills, No. 4 overall to the Cincinnati Bengals or No. 5 overall to the Arizona Cardinals. I think any of those teams would seriously think about taking him.

But let's assuming QB Cam Newton goes No. 1 as most folks are predicting right now. That leaves three teams in the top five that could select him -- Bills, Bengals and Cardinals.

I'm starting to think the Bills will pass on a quarterback (which probably means they'll take a quarterback). The Bengals could surely use Gabbert and that's arguably the most popular landing spot for him via the various mock drafts out there. The Cardinals would appear to be interested but their local beat writers are predicting defense with the fifth pick so I'm not sure who to believe.

But the big week is finally here.
