NFL Draft 2011: How Far Can Blaine Gabbert Fall?

The 2011 NFL draft is barely a day away and we're not sure where QB Blaine Gabbert will go. Most 2011 NFL mock drafts have had him in the top five for the last couple of months. With the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals potentially needing a quarterback, that made the most sense. This is all assuming QB Cam Newton goes No. overall to the Carolina Panthers.

But in the past few days some are predicting could slip -- possibly even out of the top 10. Pat Kirwan of NFL.com had him falling all the way to the Miami Dolphins with the 15th pick, which is almost unimaginable considering where he's been projected to go in the past couple of months.

There are more than a few people who now believe he could fall to the bottom of the top 10 or even out of the top 10 completely.

I'm not sure I buy that.

There are six teams that could use a quarterback in the top 10 -- Bills, Bengals, Cardinals, 49ers, Titans and Redskins. One of those teams will roll the dice on Gabbert. With the NFL lockout there's no other way to improve your roster (at least for now) so the draft is your best bet at securing a quarterback. Gabbert is one of the top two quarterbacks in the draft.

Look for him to stay in the top 10 on April 28.
