The Baylor Bears men’s basketball team came into this week’s span of Big 12 conference play feeling good about their position. Actually that would be an understatement for a team that was undefeated before facing Kansas and showing the nation overall just how great their athletic brand is after the tremendous season of the football team as well. After their last game in Lawrence, however, the mood wasn’t quite so high. Kansas dominated Baylor in the second half of their much-hyped match-up and brought the Bears back to earth. Now Missouri hopes to do the same in today’s game that pits two of the three best Big 12 teams against each other.

“No. 3 Baylor returns home to face another huge Big 12 test after falling from the ranks of the undefeated Monday at Kansas,” writes the USA Today’s Eddie Timanus. “This time the Bears are up against No. 5 Missouri. The Tigers entered the week second in the nation in field goal accuracy and feature three-point marksmen Marcus Denmon and Kim English. But the Bears might find more favorable matchups inside, especially if Perry Jones III and Quincy Acy hit the offensive glass.”

Today will definitely be a clash of styles and only one can come out on top. If Missouri can beat Baylor as well, then the upcoming Missouri-Kansas match-up will only bring that much more attention and bragging rights.
