Missouri freshman quarterback Corbin Berkstresser will get his first significant SEC challenge when the Tigers host top-ranked Alabama in Columbia, Mo., Oct. 13.
Hopefully, his week of prep work will have him ready, as he's coming off a 9 for 30 performance against Vanderbilt. Saturday will be his first career start after replacing James Franklin early against the Commodores.
To his credit, he didn't turn the ball over, and the loss could be pinned on a botched extra-point snap and a muffed punt that led to a safety. It was not Missouri's best offensive performance of the season, and with the nation's best defense coming to town, adjustments will need to be made to stave off a blowout.
Alabama (5-0, 2-0 SEC) is allowing a nation-low seven points per game through five wins, with an average margin of victory of 32 points. The Crimson Tide are favored by 17.5 points.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT with CBS handling the TV broadcast.
