In a game marked by torrential downpour and a lightning delay midway through the second quarter, the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide overcame the elements to beat the Missouri Tigers, 42-10.
Alabama put up more than 500 yards of total offense, with 351 yards and all six of the Crimson Tide's touchdowns coming on the ground. Missouri, on the other hand, struggled significantly to establish any offense whatsoever and amassed just 152 yards total on the afternoon.
The game ended on a chilling note, as Mizzou tight end Eric Waters was carted off of the field with an apparent head or neck injury sustained after being tackled out of bounds with about a minute left to play. The game was allowed to resume, during which the clock was run out.
Box Score Hero: Alabama's Eddie Lacy was absolutely unstoppable today. The halfback rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns on just 18 attempts.
Rankings Ramifications: The Tide is not going anywhere in the rankings. They will easily hold on to their No. 1 overall spot.
But Did They Cover? Alabama was favored by 21 heading into this game, so they did cover the spread.
Next Week's Schedule: Next week, Alabama will travel to Tennessee to face the rival Volunteers while Missouri has a bye before hosting Kentucky on Oct. 27.
