The preseason USA Today Top 25 coaches poll was released on Wednesday, and three SEC schools, including the Missouri Tigers, were listed in the ranks.
The Tigers, after a 30-5 season, will begin the season ranked 17th nationally. Fellow SEC members also ranked are the Florida Gators (26-11 last year) at No. 10 and the defending national champion Kentucky Wildcats (38-2 last year), who will begin the season at No. 3.
This will be Missouri's first season as members of the SEC after finishing second behind the Kansas Jayhawks in their final season in the Big 12 conference. After winning the Big 12 tournament championship, the Tigers were upset in the second round of the NCAA Tournament by the 15-seed Norfolk State Spartans.
Missouri opens their season at home against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Saturday, Nov. 10. Their first SEC game will be held on Jan. 8 at home against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
