Two teams looking for bowl eligibility meet in Colombia, Mo., Saturday when the Missouri Tigers host the Syracuse Orange.
The Tigers (5-5) get a much-needed breather away from the Southeastern Conference. Mizzou has struggled to a 2-5 conference record its first season in the league after leaving the Big 12. They're 3-0 outside of the SEC this season, news not welcome to the ears of Orange fans. A game with fellow Big 12 exile Texas A&M looms after this week, perhaps making Saturday the Tigers' best shot at gaining bowl eligibility.
Syracuse (also 5-5) sits higher in the Big East than the Tigers do in the SEC with a 4-2 conference record, perhaps adding to their chances at a bowl. But either team would need that elusive sixth win before getting a chance at a bowl, and they'll both seek that goal Saturday.
Saturday's game between Missouri and Syracuse kicks off at 6 p.m. CT and will be televised by ESPNU.
