The No. 14 Missouri Tigers men's basketball team is spending its Thanksgiving in the Bahamas for the 2012 Battle 4 Atlantis, the first game of which is Thursday against the Stanford Cardinal. It's the first meeting ever between the two schools.
Stanford (3-1) is coming off a Sunday loss to Belmont that snapped the nation's longest winning streak at eight games, dating back to last year's NIT title game. The Tigers (3-0), meanwhile, look to keep alive an impressive 13-0 non-conference regular season record under head coach Frank Haith.
The Cardinal will have to overcome a Tigers defense that has been staunch to start the year. Missouri is allowing opponents to shoot a mere 33 percent from the floor in wins over SIU-Edwardsville, Alcorn State and Nicholls State.
The Tigers and Cardinal tip off at noon CT on Thursday. The winner plays the winner between No. 2 Louisville and Northern Iowa on Friday.
