Missouri Tigers offensive tackle Justin Britt tore his ACL in the team's 14-7 loss to the Florida Gators and is out for the season, head coach Gary Pinkel confirmed at his weekly press conference on Monday.
Pinkel said Britt will have surgery a week from Friday and will be replaced in the lineup by Mitch Morse. He said the team has remained otherwise healthy:
"Fortunately, we've been very healthy on the defensive side of the ball. The only change has been Justin Britt will be out for the remainder of the season. He'll have surgery a week from this Friday. It'll be ACL surgery and maybe more, we'll see what happens. We've moved Mitch Morse out to tackle and we'll moveBrad McNulty to center. Ultimately, we came out very healthy from this game, except for that one injury. "
Britt, a redshirt junior, started every game at left tackle for the Tigers as as sophomore in 2011 before moving to right tackle this season.
The Tigers (4-5, 1-5 SEC) are on the road to play Tennessee (4-5, 0-5) on Saturday in Knoxville, Tenn. The game kicks off at 11:21 a.m. CT.
