Jabari Brown has 'great' debut for Missouri Tigers

Jabari Brown looked nice last night in his debut for the Missouri Tigers men's basketball team. Then again, it's hard not to look good for the winning team when you double the opponent's score.

The Tigers took out South Carolina State on Monday night with a 102-51 win that marked the most dominant overall performance by the Tigers this season. Brown is a transfer from Oregon a year ago at this time, meaning he had to sit out the fall semester for Missouri. His arrival as a strong shooter for a team that lost Michael Dixon, Jr. comes a great time.

While Brown's long-range prowess was not working last night, going 1 of 7 from three point range. However, he scored 12 points in 20 minutes, went 5 of 6 from the free throw line and threw in three assists. It was a solid debut.

"He played great," Frank Haith said after the game. "He was 1-for 7 from three, but that doesn't concern me because I know that he's going to make threes. What Jabari brings is basketball IQ, moves well without the ball. He passes the ball. He's patient offensively, and I think that's needed with this team."

Brown averaged six points per game last season for the Ducks.
