The Atlanta Tipoff Club announced on Wednesday that Kansas Jayhawks forward Thomas Robinson along with a pair of Misssouri Tigers guards in Phil Pressey and Marcus Denmon have made the cut on the "Midseason 30" Watch List for the Naismith Men’s Basketball Player of the Year Award presented by AT&T.
Robinson is believed to be in leading contention to bring home the Naismith award along with Kentucky's freshman center Anthony Davis. Robinson, a junior, is averaging 17.8 points/game and 11.8 rebounds/game this season. More importantly, Robinson has his Jayhawks in position to play for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament this March.
Pressey and Denmon could possibly make up the best backcourt in all of college basketball this season. Pressey's 10 points and 6 assists per game along with Denmon's 18 points and 5 rebounds a game have helped fuel the resurgence of the Tigers program this year. Missouri is also in the running for a No. 1 seed in the tournament along with the Jayhawks and the Duke Blue Devils in claiming a top seed.
