For a while, the score was closer than anyone connected with Mizzou would have liked, but the talent for Frank Haith's No. 8 Missouri Tigers was too much for the Iowa State Cyclones to handle on the road as the Tigers pulled ahead for good in the second half to win their 26th game on the season with tonight's 78-72 win.
After being down 40-36 in the first half, the Tigers multi-dimensional scoring attack shut down the long-range weaponry of the Cyclones. Despite ISU's 12 three-point field goals, the Tigers climbed ahead on the backs of their seniors here on the night set aside to honor them all. Michael Dixon led the Tigers with 21 points on 8 of 10 shooting. Ricardo Ratliffe also had 16 points, while Marcus Denmon and Kim English added 14 and 13 respectively.
Royce White had 20 points to pace the Cyclones who are now at 11-6 in the conference and should still have solid positioning heading into the NCAA Tournament.
