Kansas made it to the Sweet 16 round by first defeating Detroit Titans, but then when they took on the No. 10 seeded Purdue Boilermakers they had to overcome a double-digit deficit to move on. Kansas takes on No. 11 seeded North Carolina State first upset No. 6 seeded San Diego St. Aztecs and then got past No. 3 seed Georgetown Hoyas.
The other half of the bracket has North Carolina taking on Ohio. North Carolina's path toe the Sweet 16 first started with them defeating Vermont and then Creighton, both games were easy victories for the Tar Heels. Ohio made it this far by upsetting both Michigan and South Florida.
