The Missouri Tigers have finally finished the details for their 2012 football season and made the announcement earlier that the Syracuse Orangemen were the final opponents to land on the slate. Given the shifting of conferences not only for the Tigers but many others on the college football landscape, scheduling has been quite difficult for many.
“We are very pleased to get our schedule finalized, and are excited that we could put this kind of schedule together,” Senior Associate Athletic Director Mark Alnutt said in a statement released Friday. “This is a schedule that Tiger fans can be excited about, and we’re very fortunate to be able to put such a quality group of opponents together given the challenging timetable we were faced with.”
The Syracuse Orangemen join an SEC schedule that also includes other non-conference opponents like Southeastern Louisiana to open the season, Central Florida and Arizona State. Last year the Orangemen went 5-7 this year and closed the year with five straight losses after starting a promising 5-2. They failed to make the postseason.
