According to Dave Matter, the Missouri beat writer for the Columbia Daily Tribune, SEC commissioner Mike Slive is working hard to make Missouri Tigers athletic director Mike Alden a happy camper as the conference is in talks to re-negotiate TV deals.
Slive: SEC now having look-in talks with TV partners to re-negotiate deals. Says, "I'm optimistic we can make Mike Alden very happy."
Mizzou will likely be very happy with the change in money with the increase they're likely to get from joining the SEC to what they made in the Big 12. When it comes to college football, the Tigers will be joining the best of the best and play along side teams like LSU, Alabama, Florida and Georgia. As far as basketball goes, the conference isn't too shabby either with teams like Florida and Kentucky.
Any extra money they get from re-negotiated TV contracts will likely be icing on the cake. The biggest question is, will they be able to keep up with the big boys on the field and on the court.
