Missouri Spring Game: Tigers Show Defensive Depth In Scrimmage

The Missouri Tigers wrapped up spring practice with their annual Black & Gold game Saturday afternoon as fans got a glimpse at what the 2012 team might look like.

It was Missouri's reserves that shined the brightest in the game with the backups winning the first-half against the starters by a score of 34-10. Reserve linebacker Donovan Bonner who picked off an errant pass and returned it for a touchdown.

Bonner along with fellow linebackers Darvin Ruise and freshman Kentrell Brothers gives the Tigers some quality depth that will be important as the Tigers begin their first season in the SEC. That is something that head coach Gary Pinkel is fully aware of.

"You're going to be tough and physical in that league," Pinkel said. "There's no question about it. ... When you play more I-formation and power-running football teams, you're going to have to be better in the box, and we recognize that."
