2014 Missouri Basketball Recruiting: Tigers Land Early Verbal Commit From Anton Beard

Missouri picked up their first 2014 recruit in Little Rock, Ark., point guard Anton Beard.


Missouri Tigers head coach Frank Haith picked up his first verbal commitment for their 2014 basketball class in four-star point guard Anton Beard out of Little Rock, Ark. Beard visited the campus back in early May with three other of his AAU teammates and he said that he loved the campus and that he got along well with the coaching staff.

One key decision that played into Beard going with Missouri was due to the point guard play of Phil Pressey, and Beard wants to keep that tradition alive:

"I'm an all-around point guard," Beard said. "Mizzou lets their point guard run the show and sets up plays for them to be successful and that's the style I like to play."

Beard plans to take another visit to Missouri sometime next week.
