When word broke earlier this offseason that ESPN's College GameDay crew was coming to Faurot Field to broadcast from the Georgia vs. Missouri game in week two of the college football season, there was much rejoicing. It was a sign that the brightest lights were coming early to Mizzou after the move to the SEC, and that the game environment would likely be as frenzied as ever. But that move has reportedly been scrapped per Eric Blumberg.
Told by a source close to the decision... ESPN's College Gameday will be at UF at Texas A&M on Sept. 8th... Not UGA at #Mizzou.

Instead it is Texas A&M who receives the royal welcome into the SEC family as the Florida Gators visit. Both games should warrant a large audience, but the Florida-Texas markets have apparently replaced coming to Columbia. That's not to say that Mizzou won't enjoy an ESPN crew at some point this season, but it's certainly disappointing that it won't come with the team's first game as a member of the SEC.
