Aldon Smith Stabbing: Police Have Not Yet Identified Any Suspects From House Party Incident

Aldon Smith was injured over the weekend with minor stab wounds when a house party got out of hand, a tragic night that also included two shooting victims. The San Francisco 49ers pass rusher was taken to the hospital and treated and the team says the incident is under investigation. Unfortunately the only update a day later is that the trail is currently cold for any suspects, per the Mercury News.

Mark Gomez writes, “Investigators with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said today they have not identified any suspects in the weekend shooting and stabbing that occurred in a home in the east San Jose foothills, reportedly the residence of 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith.”

Smith is a former Mizzou defensive star who was taken No. 7 in the 2011 NFL Draft. Smith later set a rookie sack record with 14 for the 49ers.

After the incident, 49ers GM Trent Baalke prepped a statement reading, “We are in contact with Aldon, and thankful that his injuries were not more serious and that he is recovering comfortably.”
